If you have walked in and heard a squish underfoot, the first thing worth knowing is that not every soaked carpet is a lost carpet. Some come back. Some do not.
We take water damage work on carpet and rugs. What we do on any given job depends on what happened, how much water there is, where it came from, and how long it has been sitting. Those four things change the answer completely, so we look before we quote.
Two things help more than anything else you can do yourself.
Do not run a household fan over contaminated water and do not tear out padding before someone has looked at it, particularly if you are going to file a claim.

The source changes the outcome more than the volume does.
A broken supply line, an overflowing sink, rainwater coming in. This is the best case. Carpet often recovers.
Washing machine or dishwasher discharge. Carpet can frequently be saved, but it needs proper sanitizing, not just drying.
Sewage backup or floodwater from outside. Padding almost always has to go, and often the carpet with it. That is a health call, not a cost-saving one.
We will tell you when something is not worth saving. Handing back a carpet that should have been replaced is not a favor.
Wet material left wet grows mold, and Chicago summers are humid enough to make that fast. The EPA’s guidance on mold and moisture is worth reading if you are deciding whether to wait.
If you already have a musty smell in a spot that was wet weeks or months ago, that is past the point where cleaning is the answer. You need a restoration or remediation specialist, and we will say so rather than sell you a cleaning that will not fix it.
Once the area is genuinely dry, carpet that has been saved still needs a proper clean. Water leaves behind whatever it carried in.
That is a carpet cleaning job using hot water steam extraction, and it is usually a deep clean rather than a maintenance visit.
Area rugs that took on water come back to our plant. Pickup and delivery is free.
Tell us when you book. We provide an itemized invoice and documentation of the work we did, which is what most claims need from a cleaning vendor.
We are not an insurance adjuster and we do not handle the claim itself. What we can do is make sure the paperwork on our side is clear and complete.
Water damage jobs are quoted after we see them, because no two are alike. Our standard cleaning rates apply once we know the scope, and the minimum service order is $180.
Card payments carry a 3.7% processing fee. There is no fuel fee and no parking fee.
We are open Monday through Friday 8 AM to 8 PM and Saturday 8 AM to 5 PM. Closed Sunday. If you are dealing with active flooding outside those hours, call a 24-hour restoration company first and us afterward.
