Wool rugs are durable but can shrink if cleaned improperly. We control water temperature and drying conditions carefully to prevent shrinkage and fiber damage.

Silk rugs require the most delicate handling. These fibers are sensitive to heat, agitation, and many cleaning chemicals. We use specialized silk-safe methods that clean without compromising the fiber’s natural luster.

Synthetic rugs like nylon, polypropylene, and polyester are more forgiving but still benefit from professional cleaning that removes deep-down dirt regular vacuuming misses.

Our Area Rug Cleaning Process

Our cleaning process begins with a thorough inspection. We examine your rug for fiber type, dye stability, construction method, pre-existing damage, and any stains or problem areas that need special attention. This tells us exactly how to proceed.

Next, we remove dry soil through dusting. You’d be amazed how much dirt, sand, and grit accumulates deep in a rug’s foundation. This abrasive material wears down fibers from the inside. We use specialized equipment to remove dry particulate before wet cleaning.

Then we wash your rug using methods appropriate for its materials. This might be full immersion washing for durable rugs, or careful surface cleaning for delicate pieces. We use pH-appropriate, fiber-safe cleaning solutions.

After cleaning, rugs are rinsed thoroughly to remove all cleaning residue. Residue left in rug fibers attracts dirt and can cause rapid re-soiling. We make sure your rug is completely clean.

Finally, we dry your rug in a controlled environment with proper air circulation. Improper drying can cause mold, mildew, shrinkage, or color migration. We don’t rush this step.
